Club Rules for 2011

The following are the rules for the club that have been voted upon for the year 2011.

Meeting Place: Keystone Family Center at the Salem Community Complex
Meeting Times: 7pm on the 3rd & 5th Thursday's September -May Other meetings added as needed

These are 1 year terms and elections are by visible vote only. You cannot run for two terms in a row. You must be a member for several months before holding one of the main elected offices.

House Rules:
You need to attend as many meetings as possible.

If you miss a meeting, it is up to the member to contact either a leader or the president to find out what they missed.

If the leader knows in advance of the meeting that 1/2 of the club will be absent , the meeting will be cancelled.

1st year members - requirements: participate in meetings, do the club project plus 1 other project with their books and then exhibit them at the Venango County Fair. During the year do at least 1 demonstration.
Participate in the Community Service activities that the club is involved with.
Optional: Filling out the awards form and interview.

2nd year and beyond members - requirements: participate in meetings, do the club project plus as many projects as you can do well. Exhibit all projects at the fair along with books plus at least 1 Farm Credit form. Do at least 1 demonstration for each different type of project taken. EX. 2 sewing projects requires 1 demonstration, 1 sewing project & a cooking project requires 2 demonstrations. Fill in the Awards form and participate in the interview process. Participate in the community service projects that the club is involved in and the mall promotion.

Venango's Edge 4-H club is run with parliamentary procedures. Motions need to be made, 2nd and voted on. Majority rules and even if you didn't vote for it and it passes you are expected to participate without discussion.

Members are to come to the meetings with a calendar (with dates blocked out when you are busy) pen or pencil, paper and be prepared to pay attention and participate in meetings.

2011 Meeting dates are: 1/20; 2/17; 3/17; 3/31; 4/21; 5/19; 6/16; 6/30; 7/21

Books are due 7/21
Venango County Fair is  August 7-13.
